Etch text or simple graphics onto the cover material. This technique involves using a high-precision laser to remove a thin layer of the album cover material, creating a design or text that is permanent and often textured. To laser-etch text or graphics onto a cover, provide a PNG file at 300dpi resolution with a transparent background, using only solid black color (no grayscale, colors, or gradients), and avoid very thin lines and complicated shapes.
To laser-etch text or graphics onto the album cover, we need a specific file type:
- PNG file format.
- 300dpi resolution in the actual size-dimensions of the etching (for example 5x5" at 300dpi is 1500x1500 pixels)
- Transparent background.
- Black artwork only. Use of color, grayscale and gradients are not supported.
- Avoid very thin lines and complicated shapes as laser technology may not be as precise as printing.
- We recommend downloading one of our templates and customizing in Photoshop or Canva.
